People don’t care what you do…

Hello,

“People don’t care what you do…” This sentence touched my heart back in 2019.

Start with WHY: Maybe you know this TED Talk by Simon Sinek. 👉🏼 Here’s the video

Last week, I watched the video again after a long time.

Because out of nowhere my intuition told me: “Your client Ingo will benefit from this too.”

And I was just as moved as I had been years ago.

In his talk, Sinek explains what companies do in order to be perceived as successful.

Why we remember people we admire for what they did—or what they did once they were blessed with time.

Is your job actually aligned with your WHY?

In other words: Does your work match your intrinsic motivation?

This is a question I asked myself when I was still employed:

❌ Did I listen to my intuition back then?
❌ To the WHY that is anchored in my heart?
❌ To what was connected to my emotions?

Not really.

I worked at a great company, had (some) cool colleagues, and the money was pretty good too.

But to be honest, my heart wasn’t really in it.

I did have a deep inner desire to build something of my own.

Something that, in the broadest sense, had to do with psychology.

But my reality looked completely different.

I was walking the path that others would have considered meaningful.

Or rather, what I believed others would consider meaningful for me.

To put it bluntly: I realized that this professional life would never truly fulfill me in the long run.

This train of thought, which began as a wish, led to a completely new way of getting to know myself better— self-awareness through Human Design.

Just to name one example: I have the Right Cross of Penetration as my Incarnation Cross, which, simply put, is about penetrating people—just as much as penetrating myself.

And that helped me understand why psychology had always fascinated me.

And why life kept trying to tell me, again and again, that this is my thing.

But back then, I didn’t yet know my strategy for responding to life.

Maybe you recognize yourself in part of my story.

Human Design was—and still is—a great help for me in shaping the second half of my professional life.

Not only in the WHY, but also in the WHAT (what I do) and the HOW (how I do it).

Because every day I pursue the things that are important to ME and that are good for ME.

Wishing you continued success,

– Thomas

P.S.

That was a bit more “soul striptease” than I usually include in my emails.

Next time, it will be more about Human Design promises again. I promise.

A title for the email just popped into my head:

„Wo“Where Ra Uru Hu (the founder of Human Design) might have been wrong.”

I think that’s going to be exciting.

P.P.S.

By now you know where to find my offers, right?

Questions and answers about this newsletter

How does Human Design help you find your WHY in your career?

Human Design shows you your intrinsic motivation, your strengths, and your energy sources. This helps you recognize whether your current job truly aligns with your heart and your WHY.

What does the Incarnation Cross in Human Design have to do with your career?

The Incarnation Cross describes your life purpose and gives clues as to why certain themes keep drawing you in throughout life. It shows how you can work and live in alignment with your inner WHY.

Why do many people not follow their WHY in their jobs?

All too often, we let ourselves be guided by external expectations, security, or money. As a result, we lose touch with our true strengths and talents—and at some point realize that our work no longer fulfills us and drains more and more of our energy.

How can Human Design support a professional reorientation?

A Human Design Reading brings clarity about your WHAT (talents, strengths), your HOW (way of working), and your WHY (life purpose, motivation). This helps you understand what truly fits you.

What does it mean in Human Design to respond to life as a Generator or Manifesting Generator?

Generators and Manifesting Generators find their way by responding to impulses and opportunities—not by initiating them. When they live their strategy, they experience more joy, energy, and fulfillment in their work.
